Switzerland Guard
The shipment was a triumph, in the night between the 30 and 31 August the papal troops reached Viterbo. The 13 september entered in Perugia, 11 November in Bologna. The commander of Switzerland Guard, captain von Silenen, paraded victorious to horse in front of the Pope. Four days after taken of Bologna the confederate mercenarie troops were discharged. The same Guard was reduced for the service to Rome from 300 to 189 men. The test of the blood tragically happened in occasion of the pillage of Rome 6 May 1527 (Bag of Rome), 147 Swisses fell in the attempt to defend Pope Clemente WAYS, between these numerous sons of the city of Zurigo already "reformed" from Zwingli.
